Hosted Exchange – Import

Import your current email into your new Hosted Exchange profile.

 

Microsoft Outlook 2003/2007

1. Select File -> Import and Export.

2. Select Import from another program or file, then click Next.

3. Select Personal Folder File (.pst), then click Next.

4. Select the backup PST file, then click Next.

 

5. Under Options select “Replace Duplicates with Items Exported”, then click Next.

NOTE: The backup PST file is located where you saved it in Step 6 of the Migrating to Hosted Exchange – Backup article.

6. Under Select the folder to import from, ensure that:

a. Your Personal Folder Name is selected (by default this is “Personal Folders”)

b. Include subfolders is checked

c. Import items into the same folder in: is selected and {Mailbox-Your Name} is showing in the dropdown menu

7. Click Finish. The import process will start and may take a few moments depending on the amount of data to be imported. The imported mail will go to the original folders they came from (E.g. mail from the backup Inbox will go to the new Hosted Exchange Inbox, Sent Items to Sent Items, etc.)
