Interpreting BES Statistics

When activating a new Blackberry user, there are key items to look for on the Statistics page; Initially when beginning an activation process, there are two key line items you will need to watch: (see Fig.1)

When the activation process has started and is successful, look for:

STATUS: (**MGMT007) Initializing
When it says this, your handheld has not connected with your Exchange mailbox yet.

PIN 0
It has not received the pin number from the handheld, because it has not connected yet.

STATUS: Running
This means that your handheld is connected to your Exchange mailbox.

PIN: 2007FC1 (the pin number of the phone you are activating)
This confirms the connection between the handheld and your Exchange Mailbox

POLICY Applied Successfully or Pending
Notice, how there wasn't a policy field prior to activation. (in Fig.1)

After the activation and during the initial sync, look for: LAST SENT TIME, LAST FWD TIME, PENDING items to appear.  When you see these, the syncing process has begun with the handheld and the Exchange mailbox.
