
Palm Treo 650 ActiveSync Exchange Server - Wireless
You can use the built-in ActiveSync software (part of VersaMail) in your palmOne Treo 650 to synchronize your e-mail inbox and calendar wirelessly.
Section A - Prerequisites:
- A Hosted Exchange hosting mailbox - MUST be on the Power Plan or the Executive Plan
- palmOne Treo 650 device.
- Subscribed to a data plan from your cellular provider, e.g., SprintPCS, Verizon, etc.
- Internet access setup - must be able to access websites from device.
Section B - Installation Steps:
- The following steps are to done on your Treo 650 handheld itself.
- Make sure that you can access the Internet from your device by opening up your web browser and going to http://www.google.com. If this does not work, contact your cellular provider to troubleshoot.
- From icon list, click on VersaMail. If you do not come to a setup wizard, then press the menu button, click on Accounts at the top, then on Account Setup.
- Click on New to setup an account and use the following settings:
- Account Name: Exchange Mail
- Mail Service: Exchange ActiveSync
- Username: <your primary e-mail address>
- Password: <your password>
- Email Address: <your primary e-mail address>
- Mail Server: exchange.easystreet.com
- Click on Advanced and ensure the following values on the Incoming Server Settings page:
- Port Number: 443
- User Secure Connection (SSL): CHECKED and click on Next.
- On the Proxy Server Settings page:
- Proxy Server: <blank>
- Port Number: 80
- Proxy authentication: Unchecked and click on Done.
- Click on Sync. Note that the first time, it may take upto 3-5 minutes for the Sync to complete.
