Changing your domain name

Can we change the domain for our web space?

No; unfortunately you cannot.

Because your domain name is used as a unique key on our system, it is not possible to change the domain name associated with a web space. If you need to change your domain name, the process is:

• Purchase new hosting space under the new domain.
• Upload all of your content to the new hosting space.
• Test the site content to make sure it is working.
• Decide if youa are keeping the former domain name active or not. If you want to keep it active, the choices are:
  • Keep the original domain as is and pay for two accounts.
  • Downgrade the original domain to a pointer account which simply points at the new hosting account. Note: at the time the account is downgraded all web and database content will be deleted automatically. More on pointer domains here.
