Frame Relay Router
> Configure
The following assumptions are made regarding the setup
instructions on this page:
- The router is running firmware version
4.10 or higher.
COMMUNICATING WITH THE ROUTER
There are 2 ways to connect to the Netopia router:
- SERIAL CONNECTION - This is the preferred
connection. In the box that the Netopia came in, there is a bag with a
serial cable. One end of it connects to an available COM port on your
machine. The other end connects to the CONSOLE port on the back of the
Netopia. Please reference the Netopia manual for further details.
- TELNET CONNECTION - Out of the factory, the
Netopia's LAN IP is set to 192.168.1.1. You can telnet to this IP using
your preferred telnet program. This method assumes knowledge of
putting the computer you're telnetting from on the same network as the
Netopia's LAN IP, including connecting the proper CAT5 ethernet cables from
your computer to the Netopia's hub. Please consult your network
administrator for further details.
OBJECTIVE:
The screens below will show you how to configure the router using information
EasyStreet has provided you.
NOTE:
This configuration assumes that you are getting a single public IP from
EasyStreet and that the router will use NAT. For instructions on how to
configure the router if you are getting more than one public IP from EasyStreet,
check the index page.
