Exchange requires that you set up both Dial-Up Networking (RAS) and add the Internet Mail Service.

Setting up Internet Mail Service Properties
Here is the Properties setup assuming the domain name is yourdomain.com.

DO NOT enter anything in the Domain field. (This is for a NT domain, not an Internet domain.)

Use this next screen for dedicated connections.

Use this screen for dial-up connections.

Testing your connection
After you configure your Exchange server as above, you should be able to
send/receive mail within your local LAN. You should also be able to send
Internet mail.
If you can send Internet mail, give us a call at (503) 646-8400 and ask to run the Exchange Server test. We will connect to your Exchange Server and manually use SMTP commands to place a piece of mail on your server and to check for correct server responses.
Assuming that EasyStreet already is doing DNS (Domain Name Service) for your domain, we can continue your incoming mail testing. (If we are not doing DNS, this is the time to modify the domain and transfer it to EasyStreet.) If successful with the manual test, we will use our mail server to place a message in your queue. This tests for mail operation within the easystreet.com domain.
If that's successful, we will send you mail from outside the easystreet.com domain. This tests the complete incoming mail system including our DNS configuration.
The last test is for you to verify the dial-up scheduling for your server. To keep the load on our mail server reasonable and to keep your connect hours within quota, we recommend that you call once an hour. Please set your server to call at sometime other than xx:00. This distributes the call load over the hour and ensures you better mail performance.
