Forwarding Your Mail |
Unfortunately, you can ONLY use these instructions if you have one of our Basic Dial up or Individual, Enthusiast, or SOHO DSL accounts! If you have one of our Business Dial-up or Small Office DSL accounts, please talk to your Account Manager, 503-646-8400 about setting up forwarding for your mail. Thanks!
Open a Text Editor (NotePad on Windows Systems, SimpleText on Macs, and the editor of your choice for Linux).
Create a new file and put a single line with the email box you want your mail forwarded to. For example:
mymail@hotmail.com
If you'd like to send email to more than address, just include the other addresses
separated by a comma. If you'd like to leave yourself a copy of the message include your
\<email username> at the beginning of the list. For example:
\mymail, mymail@hotmail.com, joe@joe-user.net
Save the file as: .forward (on Windows systems you have to save it as forward.txt and use the rename command in your FTP program after uploading it).
Exit the text editor; you are ready to upload the file
To upload the forward file, use your favorite FTP program (Recommended FTP programs). The specific instructions vary from program to program, but these are the steps to upload your forward file to your home directory.
You can also use Internet Explorer 5 or later to upload your .forward file.
ftp://username:password@users.easystreet.com .forward
